10 Nelson Mandela in his youth

Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela was a South African anti-apartheid leader and was the President of South Africa from 1994 to 1999. He won the Nobel Peace prize in 1993, Bharat Ratna in 1990 and many more such awards were given to him. He died in 2013 aged 95.

No one could imagine that this young fella would go on to become one of the cruelest dictators in history of the world and would be responsible for the death of over 6 million people and instigate a World War that would see millions of others die as well. This fella is Adolf Hitler, who was chancellor of Germany from 1933-1945 and leader of Nazi Party. He was born in 1889 and committed suicide in 1945, after Germany had lost the WWII to Russia, US and Britain and their allies.

George W Bush was 43rd US President and served from 2001-2009. He is the son of former US President George HW Bush who served from 189-1993. Bush was famous for the war on Iraq in search of weapons of mass destruction and for the 9/11 terror attacks incident happening during his tenure.

7 Kim Jong-II as a toddler

Kim Jong-il was the supreme leader of North Korea from 1994-2011. He was born in 1941/42 and succeeded his father Kim II Sung, founder of North Korea as the party head. He was a promoter of military first politics and the country suffered from famine due to poor economic management. After his death in 2011, his son Kim Jong-un succeeded him.

Nicolae Ceau?escu was Romanian country head from 1967-1989. He is known to rule Romania with an iron fist and limited the powers of media. His secret police helped him in keeping eyes on any detractors. He cause extreme food shortage as he ordered export of Romania’s agricultural and industrial products to remove country’s debt. He and his wife were shot by firing squad of armed forces after the Communist government collapsed in 1989.

4 14th Dalai Lama

Tenzin Gyatso or as he is better known as the Dalai Lama is the 14th and current Dalai Lama or the leaders of the monks in Tibet are considered holy for followers of Buddhism. The current Dalai Lama was born in 1935 and became the leader in 1939. He has received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1989 and currently lives in India as a refugee after the Tibetan Uprising of 1959.

3 Margaret Thatcher

Margaret Thatcher was the first woman Prime Minister of Britain from 1979-1990. She was often called the Iron Lady for being uncompromising in her politics. She will always be remembered to change how Britain works as she brought it private companies to run government owned properties like British Gas and British Telecom. She also sent the British troops to defend Falklands from Argentine invasion. She died in 2013 and received a funeral with full military honors.

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi or Mahatma Gandhi was an Indian leader who used peace and non co-operation as weapons to get independence for India from British. He was born on October 2, 1869 in Gujarat and went to London and South Africa to study and train as a barrister. He was influential in his fight for civil rights in South Africa as well. He died on January 30, 1948, after he was shot by Nathuram Godse three times.

Saddam Hussein was the 5th President of Iraq from 1979-2003. During his tenure, Iraq invaded Iran in 1980. Hussein was hanged to death after US invaded Iraq and held him guilty of gross overlook of human rights.
